Battle teeth infection with Root Canal treatment

An individual’s teeth may get infected by bacteria from time to time, and may result in cavities. Also referred to as endodontic therapy, this form of dental treatment is used to eliminate infection within a tooth. Additionally, root canal treatment also protects teeth from other future infections.

The root canal treatment procedure is carried out in the pulp of tooth, which is referred to as the root canal. This hollow area comprises of live tissues, blood vessels, nerves and other cells that are connected to the brain. Infection from affected teeth is removed by removal of damaged nerves from the pulp. Though this procedure is costly, it is not as expensive as the actual extraction, and gets replaced by a bridge or crown.

Composition of a tooth

A tooth is made from its crown and roots. While the crown remains above the gum, roots are below it. These roots are responsible for attaching the tooth to the jaw bone. Inside the root is the pulp, or the root canal. Nerves within the pulp are sensitive to heat and cold, sending pain messages to the brain.

Root canal treatment cost in India

Speaking of the cost, the amount charged by the dentist at Spadent for treatment will range from INR 2000 to INR 3500. The crown comes at an additional price which falls between INR 3000 to INR 4000.

Procedure for root canal treatment

The Spadent dentist will first require an X-ray to know the exact position of the infected tooth.

Local anaethesia will be administered to numb the area around the tooth.

After placing a rubber sheet around the infected area for dryness, the dentist will drill a hole into your tooth to get rid of decayed nerve tissues and debris. Damaged nerves will be removed with the help of suitable files. You will be required to swish your mouth with water from time to time.

After cleaning the tooth, it will be sealed by the dentist at Spadent. In case of infection, some medicine may be applied before sealing the tooth.

If the filling is not completed, the dentist will give you a temporary filling to keep away saliva and food. Root canal India typically requires 3-4 sittings.

Permanent filling is completed using a material called gutta-percha.

The last procedure involves restoration of the tooth. During this, a crown is put on the tooth for protection and to safeguard it from breaking. The crown also ensures that the affected tooth is able to regain complete functionality.

It would be a lie to state that root canal treatment is not painful at all. Yes, it is painful to a degree, but with a proper procedure and administration of adequate cold to the external area, one can keep the pain down. After the recovery period of a week, the positive results will be there for you to see.
